Virtual Classroom Experience

What’s it like inside the classrooms at Johns Hopkins Engineering Boot Camps? Our programs are intensive and immersive — with compelling instructor-led classes and hands-on projects.

Strategic homework assignments and projects will give you hands-on practice on the lessons learned, allowing you to expand and fine-tune your skills. We believe that applying your skills on projects is pivotal to mastering new material. In class, you’ll not only receive a dynamic learning experience, but you’ll also gain insight into a “day in the life” of a full stack developer or data analyst.

To provide extensive support, classes are held in an intimate setting with a low instructor to participant ratio and dedicated TAs.

[The program] has totally changed the way I think about problem solving, and made me feel more excited about my career/future to have this awesome skillset. I was totally ignorant to the tech world before the program and now I understand how so many things work. Learning to code has opened up so many doors and has made me very excited for the future.

It’s the digital age — so everything you need for our programs can be done via computer. This eliminates the need for extra expenses on books, and you’ll know that you are gaining applied knowledge by working directly within the systems you are learning. You’ll also simulate a professional work environment by solving real-world problems with your peers. Our programs are structured into three main groups:

Female showing a male something on a laptop

Discussion

Instructors lead live, online class discussions three days per week and cover the history, background, and use of a new concept or technology.

Female working on computers

Lab Work

Through engaging exercises and projects, you will work individually and in groups to gain hands-on practice.

Male working on a laptop

Portfolio Projects

Your portfolio is the culmination of all of your hard work — showing employers that you have the skills for the job. You’ll create a strong portfolio of projects that proves your knowledge across a vast array of technologies.
